Joyce Ann Hestermann, age 77, of Hammond entered into eternal life on Friday, January 7, 2022.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Jessica) Hestermann; grandchildren: Kayla (Elliot) Borg and Hannah Hestermann as well as numerous friends.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, David P. Hestermann; son, Carl Hestermann; parents, John and Martha Stur; brother, Jerry Stur.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond IN, 46323. Funeral service to follow at  11:00 a.m. with Father Ronald Zgunda officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, IN.

Joyce was born in East Chicago, IN and was a lifelong resident of the region. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Joyce enjoyed shopping and collecting teddy bears. In her free time, she could be found talking and snuggling with her dog Ziggy and bragging to people about her granddaughters whom she adored.  Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
