Joyce M. Virge, age 77, of Hammond, entered into the presence of her Lord and savior on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara E. Dilley; son, James (Brenda) Virge; five grandchildren: Kira (Gage) Ringer, Elizabeth (Jacob) Bastin, Candice (Christopher) Martin, Charity Virge and Johnathan Virge; numerous great-grandchildren; five siblings: Jerry (Debbie) Whitmore, Shirley (Larry) Mahler, Donna Mooney and Darryel Whitmore.

Joyce was preceded by her husband, Lee E. Virge; parents Dean and Eulala Whitmore, brother, Dale Whitmore; granddaughter, Angel Dilley.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Zion Holiness Church, 5051 Central Avenue, Portage IN, 46368 with a funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Richard Westmoreland officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond, IN.

Joyce was a lifelong resident of the region and a dedicated member of Zion Holiness Church, where she faithfully attended and served for many years. Her love for God was evident in every aspect of her life, reflected through her unwavering commitment to her church and its community. Joyce had a love for music, with Gospel being her favorite genre. In her free time, she enjoyed watching westerns, coloring, and playing games on her phone.
