Judith Margaret Hensley, age 90, of Munster was called home by her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, while surrounded by her loved ones.
She is survived by her loving nephews: Kurt (Collene) Simon, Timothy (Wendy) Hensley, Robert (Christina) Hensley, Scott (Sharon) Hensley; great nephews, Dillon (Bekah) Simon and Richard Miller; great-great niece, Lorraine Simon; as well as numerous family and friends including cousin and best friend Mary Dooley.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell Patrick and Pearl Hensley; sister, Janet (Herbert) Simon; great-great nephew, Bennett Simon and siblings: Randell (Ione) Hensley, Bonnie (Ed) Reinert, Patrick (Dorothy) Hensley, Dennis (Maxine) Hensley, Dale Hensley and Tim (Marilyn) Hensley.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Judith Hensley and her sister Janet Simon will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at Bocken Funeral Home, 7025 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, IN 46323. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 5:30 p.m. Military honors will be offered for Judith Hensley.
Judith was born and raised in Hammond; she graduated in the class of 1954 from Hammond Tech High School. Judy went on to make a career in the United States Marine Corps serving nearly 26 years, earning a Meritorious Mast, Good Conduct Medal with Silver Star, and National Defense Service Medal. Judy was a member of the Women's Marine Corps League After retirement she enjoyed living in Monticello IN, then St. Pete, Florida and North Carolina before returning to Northwest Indiana. Judy loved her family and loved the times spent together and would do anything for them. In addition to flowers memorials to the Disable American Veterans or the Women's Marine Corps League would be appreciated.
