Judy A. Anderson, of St. John, IN formerly of Lansing IL passed away peacefully on Friday, September 20, 2019, after a brief, valiant battle with breast cancer.
Judy was born in Jonesboro, IL on July 21, 1940 to the late, William and Afton Aldridge. She was the beloved wife of "Roger", Charles Roger Anderson, Sr.; Loving mother of Charles Roger (late, Teri) Anderson, Jr. of Schererville, Stephen Anderson and special friend, Kelly of Naperville, Charisse (Cal) Streeter of Topeka, IN, Todd (Susan) Anderson of St. John; Affectionate "Maw Maw" to13 Grandchildren: Curtis (late, Shannon) Anderson of Florida, Claire (Dan) Chadwick of Portage, IN, Stewart Anderson of Florida, Danielle (Alec) Evans of California, Amy Anderson, Amber Anderson, Kimberly Anderson, Allison Anderson and Natalie Anderson all of Carol Stream, IL, Ashley (Ryan) Schmidt of Milwaukee, WI, John Malo of Glendale Heights, IL, Amanda (Steve) Herrmann of Chesterton, IN and Spencer (Katherine) Anderson of Chesterfield, VA; Doting Gigi to 7 Great grandchildren: Grace Woods of Venice, FL, Dominic Anderson of Venice, FL, Benji Chadwick of Portage, IN, Lilliana Chadwick of Portage, IN, Gracelyn Malo of South Bend, IN, Abrianna Smith of West Virginia and Mason Charles Herrmann of Valparaiso, IN;
Judy is survived by her one and only sibling; her cherished sister, Jane Bauer of Anna, IL; Brother-in-law, Mike (Judith) Anderson of Crown Point, IN; Sister-in-law, Vida Milleris of Forest, VA; several nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Judy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church for over 58 years, and for 56 years she tenderly cared for the babies in the church nursery every Sunday morning. She was involved in the Ladies Missionary Society and several of the Circles throughout the years. For the past 6 years she was Leader of the Western-Europe Circle. Judy had a heart for the missionaries and she dearly loved the members of her Circle.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2019 directly at First Baptist Church Jack Hyles Memorial Auditorium, 523 Sibley, Hammond at 10:00 a.m. with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery, Crown Point. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Friday, September 27, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).
