Judy Sue Cunningham (Stanley) passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving husband and children on Saturday June 27,2026. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Ed, her son Brian Cunningham (Partner Rochelle Robertson) of Raleigh, North Carolina; daughter Jessica Mount (John) of Lebanon, Indiana; brother Dan Stanley (Gloria) of Henderson, Iowa; sister-in-law Cindy Stanley of Henderson, Kentucky. Two grandchildren, Erica Freed (Jackson) of Westfield, Indiana and Jonathan Moore of Lebanon, Indiana. One great grandchild, Olivia Freed, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and family/ friends, and special friend Shirley McClaine.
Judy was born October 10, 1946, to John and Sue Stanley in Madisonville, Kentucky. Her parents moved back to Hammond when she was just a few months old. She graduated from Gavit High School and worked at Michigan Industrial Hardwood in Whiting, Indiana. Judy attended Terrace Park Church of God for many years serving as a Sunday school teacher and as church office helper. In 2019 she began attending the First Church of the Nazarene in Highland, Indiana. Throughout her life, she was dedicated to her church families and serving the Lord.
Judy was an avid scrap-booker and loved to paint ceramics, teaching a class at Leisure Time Ceramics for many years. She loved her family and devoted her life to serving them faithfully until the time came when she became unable to do that any longer. In her final years, she enjoyed visiting with family and friends, watching Hallmark movies, and eating sweets. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10AM from the Highland Church of The Nazarene 9330 Kennedy Ave. Highland, Indiana 46322 with Rev. Nathan Bucholz officiating. Visitation will be at Highland Church of the Nazarene on Thursday from 3-7 PM and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The Highland Church of the Nazarene or to the Alzheimer's Association .
