Karen R. Kornaus, age 66, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 30, 2021.

She is survived by her son: Ryan (Danielle) Kornaus; brother, Thomas (Belinda) Kornaus; sister, Sharon Harris; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Karen was preceded in death by her son, Eric Kornaus; parents Aloysius and Ruth Kornaus; sister, Susan Geck; brother, Gerald Kornaus.

Karen has been a lifetime resident of the region. She attended Hammond Tech but graduated from Morton High School. She enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores in search for Knick-knacks to add to her collection. She also liked going to the Casinos and horse racetrack to gamble. She was a loving mother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed.
