Kenneth Joseph Kotlarz, age 74, of Hammond, passed away after a long illness on Monday, July 27, 2015.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Carol Kotlarz (nee Haack); two children: Cindy Terzarial and Kenneth M. Kotlarz; mother: Lottie Kotlarz; four grandchildren: Delana (Neil) Orban, Samantha (Dagoberto) Sauvedra, Tiffany Kotlartz, and Brett Kotlarz; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his father Michael Kotlarz and step son David James Russo.

Cremation was private and a memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ken was born in East Chicago, IN on June 17, 1941 and has been a lifetime resident of N.W. Indiana. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and life member of the American Legion Post 232. Ken was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He worked for the Hunter Corp. as a timekeeper for a number of years. He was a kind man who dearly loved his family, and would always help people whenever there was a need. Ken enjoyed fishing, playing pinochle, watching the Cub's and spending time with friends and family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
