Kevin D. Allen, age 48, of Indianapolis, IN, formerly of Hammond, IN passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013. Survived by his step-father: Jerry Hepner of Martinsville, IL; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by his mother, Cathy Hepner, brother, Gary D. Allen, Jr., grandparents: Bob and Daisy Merrill and grandmother, Mary Ellen Heims. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the First Christian Church of Hessville 6805 Alabama Avenue, Hammond, with ministers Dan Nichols and Grant Ray officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may visit on Tuesday, May 7 from 2 to 4 and 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville).                                                                        Kevin was a graduate of Morton Senior High School Class of 1982. A lifelong region resident, Kevin relocated to Indianapolis in 2002 where he worked for Digital Technology as a medical records validator. Formerly, he was a member of the First Christian Church of Hessville where he took an active role in both music and youth programs. Kevin also served for many years as President of a church youth volleyball league.
