Lois G. Albin, age 77, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 20, 2026.

She is survived by her two children, Charlotte (Alan) Abascal and Kenneth (Teri) Showalter; ten grandchildren, Eric, Matthew, Jordan, and Cory Locher, Michael and Matthew Frost; Kenneth Jr., Jacob, Michael and Sam Showalter; five great grandchildren; two brothers; Ronald and Merit Albin; two sisters: Dorothy Baker and Dawn Garris; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Geraldine Albin; son, Fred Albin Showalter; and brothers: Howard, Harlan and Arthur Albin.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Thursday, March 26 , 2026, from 10 a.m. until the service at 12:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond, IN 46323. Burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, IN to follow.

Lois was a lifelong resident of the Region. She worked for many years at Ford Motor Company before retiring. Lois served on the Hammond EMA for almost 20 years. In her free time, she was an avid crafter who made gifts for all her friends and family. Lois attended St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family and community. Lois absolutely loved her grandchildren and cats.
