Lorraine V. Otto, age 89, of Schererville, formerly of Hammond, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 5, 2016.

Survived by four children: Richard (Chesterine) Otto, Glenn Otto, Sharon (Chris) White, Ronald (Kathleen) Otto; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one sister, Jean Seibel.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Stanley Otto and parents, Henry and Evelyn Brokskar.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. directly at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville with Pastor Chad Kendall officiating.

Lorraine was born on November 15, 1926 in Duluth, MN and was raised in East Chicago; where she attended St. Pat's and was a 1944 graduate of Washington High School. Following high school she worked at Inland Steel. In 1948 she married Stanley and together they raised four children. She was a longtime faithful member of OLPH Church, and sang in the choir for funerals. Lorraine was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and was active with ARC Bridges. Her passion became yard work and Sundays were reserved for church. In her later years she enjoyed watching the birds from her patio and keeping in touch with her former classmates. Lorraine loved helping those in need.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care given to Lorraine by the staff at the Residences at Deer Creek in Schererville.
