Lorraine F. Spletzer, age 84, of Merrillville formerly of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Tuesday May 31, 2016.

She is survived by 5 daughters: Laurie (Scott) Wilson

Linda (Clarence) Deckinga

Ellen (Stanley) Hejmej

Mary Jo (Henry) Scheive

Leslie (Harold) Jenkins;

One son, James Allan Spletzer;

15 grandchildren; Christopher (Stacy).Katie, Dale, Sarah (Ryan), Andrea (Colby), Amanda, C.J., Jonathan, Tyler, Matthew, Joshua and Kayla;

3 great grandchildren: Kaylee, Michael and Sophia and very special friend Lily; several nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Allan Spletzer; son, Jeffery Scott Spletzer;

Parents: Joseph and Catherine Fisher;

Sisters: Jane, Nancy and Barbara

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave., Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor James Thomson officiating.  Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Lorraine was born and raised in Hammond and was a longtime former member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. She was employed for some time for the School City of Hammond in the cafeteria, also at Sterk's Grocery and White Hen Pantry.

Lorraine's world revolved around her family, and she dearly loved her grandchildren.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
