Manolis Mamouzelos "Manny" age 49 of Baroda, Michigan, formerly of Hammond , passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by his loving family on Friday June 22,2012 after battling pancreatic cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 19 years,  Ruth Mamouzelos (Nee Budnik ); 3 Daughters: Hollie (Gabriel) Sanchez, Alexia and Gabriella Mamouzelos;  mother, Maria Mamouzelos and 14  brothers and sisters: Stavros (Popi) Mammas, (Pam), Afrodite (Ari), Adonis (Angie) of the U.S. and John (Katina), George, Theofilis (Maria), Irene (Nikola), Angeliko (Dimitri), Skevo, Dimitri (Tassoula), Roulla (Kosta), Vasili (Maria), Eleni (Panteli) of Kalymnos Greece;  Many Nieces, Nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his father Michael Mamouzelos.
Funeral Service  will be held on Tuesday , June 26, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Saints Constantine & Helen Cathedral, 8000 Madison Street, Merrillville, IN 46410 with Father Theodore Poteres officiating, Burial will follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.  Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, June 25,2012 from 2-8pm at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue , Hammond (Hessville), Trisagion service will be held at 5pm Monday at the Funeral Home.
Manolis was born on January 3,1963 in Kalymnos, Greece. He immigrated to the U.S. when he 17 years old. Manny owned and operated an ice-cream vending business in Hammond for many years and also a carpet cleaning business. He moved to Michigan a few years ago to open Greek Islands Restaurant and Ruthies Diner in St. Joe, MI. Manolis loved his daughters with all his heart, they were his pride and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers, request for donations to wife and children are appreciated.
