Manuel R. Candelaria, age 93, of Hammond entered into the gates of Heaven on Saturday, February 5, 2022

He is survived his wife of 45 years, Maria A.  Candelaria; four children: Louis (Tracy Reyes) Gonzalez, Orlando (Marilyn) Gonzalez, Mayra (Oscar) Cabrera and Manuel Candelaria Jr.; many grandchildren and his beloved dog Max.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jose and Rosa Arce Candelaria; one son: Alfredo Gonzalez; and numerous siblings

Private services entrusted to  Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond IN 46323. A funeral service will be  officiated by Pastor Obed Marrero with burial at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville to follow.

Manuel was a born in Puerto Rico but was a lifelong resident of the region. He retired from LTV Steel after 43 years of work. He loved carpentry, walking his dog Max and gardening. But above all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
