Margaret Metros, age 87 of the Hessville section of Hammond passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2012.
She is survived by her son, Charles "Chuck" Metros of Hammond;
daughter, Dianne (Carl) May of Hessville; daughter-in-law, Christine Metros;
5 grandchildren: Nick (Priscilla) Metros, Katie Metros, Nathan, Adam (Jess) and Brian May;
2 great grandchildren: Sophia and Sammy Metros;
1 sister, Myrtle Teets;
1 brother-in-law, Gus (Lorraine) Metros;
Numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry "Carl" Metros; 2 sons, Pfc Carl Deane Metros and Garry Metros;
1 granddaughter, Melissa Metros; parents, Vennis and Birdie West.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. (Noon) at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Bob Parnell officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, October 13th at Bocken Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m., noon.
Marge was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. She was a member of the Democratic Club and a tireless worker for the democratic party.  Marge was a "Gold Star Mother". Her son, Carl Deane was killed during the Viet Naum Conflict.  Marge was known for her sense of humor and she loved playing bingo. Her family was first and foremost in her life. A wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and a dear friend to many, Marge will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
