Margie M. Denney, 86, of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Saturday, August 4, 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan Denney; granddaughter, Lonna Knight; great grandson, Gavin Copeland; several nieces and nephews and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Irvin W. Denney; daughter, Debra Faith Denney; son, Douglas Denney and her parents, Emmitt and Mattie Roberson.

Margie was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist of Hammond, and served as the superintendent of the Blind Department for many years. She was a hard worker and always ready to lend a hand when needed. She had a wonderful personality and was loved by everyone who knew her. Margie was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend to many and will be deeply missed.
