Mark Alvin Curtis
Mark Alvin Curtis, age 93 of Hessville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at his residence.
He is survived by his 2 sons, James and Gary Curtis;
numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceded in death by 2 daughters, Arlene Griesbeck and Michelle Szykowny; son, Mark Lee Curtis; 2 sisters, Audrey Richards and Betty Jones; parents, Mark James and Anna Margaret Curtis.
A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Mark Alvin Curtis will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Paul Community Church, 18200 Dixie Highway, Homewood, IL 60430, (708)798-0700. Friends may meet with the family prior to the service, from 10:30 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Michigan near his family.
Mark was born and raised in Centerline, MI and has made his home in the Hessville section of Hammond for the past 25 years. He was a faithful member of the St. Paul Community Church in Homewood, IL where he sang in the choir. Mark was a handwriting analysis and document examiner. He owned and operated Curtis Handwriting Service for over 30 years. Mark was a proud U. S. Marine veteran. He was very active and loved ballroom dancing, swimming and bowling.
Mark loved watching the Chicago Cubs and was an avid astrologer. Memorials may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
