Marliss "Polly" Spencer, age 63 of Hessville was promoted to Heaven on Friday, December 3, 2010 after a courageous battle against cancer.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 28 wonderful years, James C. Spencer
Daughters: Breck V. and Savanna Tegiana Spencer of Hammond and Catherine (Shane) Patterson of Portage Sons: James E. (Jennifer) of St. Augustine, FL
and Michael O. (Jodi) of Valparaiso
Special "son": Kevin Brunaczki of Hammond Grandchildren: Annelyse, Ileana, Garrison and Haley Spencer and Alyssa and Adam Patterson
Mother: Myrtle Larson of Hammond, formerly of Elgin, IL
Brother: Kenneth (Catherine) Larson of Melrose Park, IL
Sister: Christine Anderson of Elgin, IL
Sister-in-law: Janet Charleston of Hammond.
Nieces: Kelly (Dennis) Hernandez of Caldonia, IL and Kim Larson of Elgin,IL.
Nephew: Kenneth Charleston of Sacramento, CA
3 Great Nieces: Marchand Hernandez of Willowbrook,IL Abigail (Russell) York of Almo, KY and Bria Larson of South Elgin, IL.
1 Great Nephew: Jeffrey Larson of South Elgin, IL and great great nephew: Brayden York.
Many Cousins and dear friends. Preceded in death by her father; Kenneth Larson and many Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 10am at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville)with Major and Mrs. Robert Buttrey officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 2 pm untl 8 pm at Bocken Funeral Home.
Polly was born and raised in Elgin, IL and has lived in Northwest Indiana since 1982. She enjoyed Scrapbooking, celebrating Christmas and traveling with her family. Polly was a very active and devoted member of the Salvation Army Church and was a wonderful provider, loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed. Memorials would be preferred to Salvation Army Food Panrty, 8225 Columbia Avenue, Munster, IN 46321 or the Cancer Research at www.cancerresearch.org
