Martha R. Brokaw age 76 of Hammond entered into eternal life on Thursday, April 25, 2013.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 23 years,
David E. Brokaw;
4 children: Debbie Hastings,
Pam (Greg) Palikan,
Marsha (Bill) Sorge,
Danny (Cindy) Hastings;
5  grandchildren: Destine, Michael, Stephanie, Daniel and Michelle;
5 great grandchildren;
Stepsons: Brian, Chris and Terrence Brokaw;
2 sisters: Margaret (Charlie) Craine and Fannie Smart;
several nieces, nephews and a host of dear friends.
Preceded in death by her son, Michael Hastings; parents,
Marvin and Eula Wallace and 6 brothers and sisters.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Christian Fellowship Church, 605-165th Street, Hammond with Pastor Michael Matiscik officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Sunday, April 28th at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a time of viewing at the church on Monday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m.
Martha has been a resident of Hammond since 1971. She was a faithful member of Christian Fellowship Church. Martha was an avid reader, she loved to work in her garden, enjoyed bird watching, working on crafts and she was an outstanding cook.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a beloved friend to many. Martha will best be remembered for her kindness toward others and her sweet spirit.
