Mary Lou Williams, age 85 of Hammond, was called home to be with her Lord and savior on Friday April 8,2011.
Mary Lou is survived by her loving husband of 65 years Clint E. Williams.
Two sons Jimmy (Denise) Williams of IL and David (Wendy) Williams of AZ.
Five grandchildren: Libby, Lauren, Trevor, Kirstie and Blake Williams.
Several nieces and nephews and her church family at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by her parents, Alvis and Exa Ola Cole and loving Aunt Lucille Frazier.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at 10.00 am at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor William Collins officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.
Friends are invited to meet with the family at Bocken Funeral Home on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
"Lou" was born in McKenzie, TN, she and her husband Clint have made Hammond their home since 1947. She was retired from A & P in Hammond where she was head Cashier for many years and then went on to work at Montgomery Ward department store in Munster. Lou was a longtime faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Hammond. She loved basketball, her Chicago Bulls & Bears, flowers, to travel, bake and play Yahtzee. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, whose servant heart will be deeply missed. Memorials may be made in Mary Lou Williams' memory to DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS P.O.
