Maxine Ellen Stromberg, age 84 of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on, Saturday, June 18, 2011.
She is survived by one son, Rev. Larry (Christina) Stromberg of Lino Lakes, MN;
4 grandchildren: Kirk Stromberg; Erica (Brendan) Tighe;
John and Katherine Stromberg;
1 great grandchild Avery Michael Tighe
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Lawrence in 2007 and one daughter, Sharon in 1976, her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. DIRECTLY at Griffith Baptist Church, 826 Harvey, Griffith, IN with Pastor Rob Lemon officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Memorial Park in Schererville. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, June 24th at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville), IN from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9.30am until 10am at Griffith Baptist Church.
Max was a lifetime resident of Hammond. She was currently a member of Griffith Baptist Church and was a former member of First Baptist of Hammond for 35 years where she worked in the Nursery Dept. and was a member of the women's missionary society. Max was well known for her sense of humor, her sharp competiveness at board games , and her love of family and friends.
