Obituary

Michael Joseph Bewley

Michael Joseph Bewley, age 35, of East Chicago, IN, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 26th, 2022.

Michael is survived by his parents Franklin and Sandra Bewley, fiancé Christine Aviles, daughter Azalya Bewley (Andreyea Stack), son Giovonnie Bewley (Ofelia Marsiliano), son Michael Aviles-Bewley, brother David (Alleyce) Bewley, sister Kristina (Marc) Martinez, a loving niece, wonderful nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ossie and Mary Bewley, William and Hatti Hook, uncle Wilburt Bewley, and aunt Donna Colon.

Michael proudly served our country in the National Guard and was deployed to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. He was honorably discharged in 2013 after 6 years of military service. Michael had a lifelong love of trains that led him to a career in the railroad industry working for CSX and then later RailPros in recent years. His hobbies included carpentry, cars, and collecting shoes. When Michael wasn't finishing up his latest HGTV reno project for his family and friends you could find him putting new tints or rims on his cars while rocking the freshest shoes in town.

Michael was a deeply devoted family man who loved his fiancé and children more than words could ever say. He absolutely adored his kids and would do whatever he could to make them happy. His selfless legacy and the unforgettable impact he left on everyone he met will forever live on through his family.

A memorial gathering will be held at Fellowship Church (Hammond Campus) located at 3425 Orchard Drive, Hammond, IN 46323, on Friday, July 8th, 2022, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM CST with a memorial service to immediately follow with Pastor Joe Best, officiating. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Wounded Warriors Project can be made in Michael's memory.

"Death is not an ending, but a symbol of movement along the path upon which we are all traveling. As it may be painful to lose contact with the physical aspect of one we love, the Spirit can never be lost. We have been and always will be a part of each other."
