Michael Gordon, age 71, of Hammond, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

He is survived by numerous friends, nieces and nephews.

Mick was preceded in death by his parents: Norman and Ann Gordon; siblings: Jerry (late Shirley) Gasvoda, Connie (late Bob) Parkerson, Dave (Elaine) Gasvoda, Ruth (late Ed) Gorney, Judy (late Ron) Bartnicki and Jim (Cindy) Gasvoda.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service to celebrate his life will be held at Freedom Church, 4802 Olcott Ave. East Chicago, IN 46312, at a date to be announced.

Mick was a lifelong resident of the region. He loved football, playing throughout his high school years and even onto a local semi-pro team after graduating. He was retired from Coldwell Banker where he worked as a document and supply courier. In his free time, he loved fishing, and Wolf Lake was one of his favorite places. He also enjoyed watching football and was a big Chicago Bears fan. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Freedom Church to support charity work by the church.
