Michael Charles Moreau, age 59, of Hammond passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 17, 2012.
He was born on September 17, 1952 Charles and Mary (nee, Brennan) Moreau in Chicago, IL and grew up in Dolton. Mike graduated from Thornridge High School in 1970 and became an expert tradesman in auto body repair. He was gifted in his profession and had most recently worked for Bud's Auto in Griffith. Mike has resided in the Hessville section of Hammond for the past 15 years.
Preceded in death by his parents; aunts, Dorothy Brennan and Kathleen (Will) Barton. He is survived by his beloved step-sons, Jack and Ian Weeden and their mother, Colleen;
3 sisters: Marianne Powel, Linda (Hyrum) Loscher and Kathleen (Albert) Ferguson; one brother, James Moreau; uncle, Edward (Bud) Brennan; nieces and nephews: David and Robert Moreau, Melissa Stephens, Richard and Michael Martinez, Greg, Jennifer, Kathryn, Leanne and Mark Loscher; several great nieces, nephews and many cousins. Mike leaves behind many dear friends who affectionately called him "Fuzzy", due to his bounteous head of hair. Two of his best friends were his dogs, "Smoky" and "Maggie". Mike loved working on cars and motorcycles and enjoyed swimming and scuba diving. He had a smile that lit up his face. He was a loving and devoted step-father, brother and friend and he will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Mike's life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with brother-in-law Hyrum Loscher officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Saturday, January 28th from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.
His cremated remains will be scattered at a later date.
