Miley Veldeen McGehee, age 81, of Highland went home to meet her Lord and Savior on Monday, October 14, 2013.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss:
her Son John (Jennifer) McGehee and Daughter Deborah McGehee;
2 Grandchildren; Michelle and Megan McGehee
Nephew Richard (Georgia) McGehee and
numerous other nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Ronald G. McGehee; parents, Lester and Opal Holloway;
sisters, Norma Holbrook and Ina Holloway.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday October 17,2013 at 10am from Bocken Funeral Home with Pastor Jeffrey Hannon officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond.
Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, October 16,2013 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 3pm till 8 p.m.
Miley has lived in the region for the past 50 years living in East Chicago, Hammond and Highland. She was a former member of Hessville Baptist Church . She was an excellent homemaker and was known by her family as living a simple life. She enjoyed spending hours talking on the phone to family. Miley was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Humane Society Calumet Area would be appreciated.
