Muriel C. McCloud, age 81, of Portage formerly of Highland and Hammond , passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2010.

She is survived by her son: James ( Nancy ) McCloud, III of Portage , IN

Daughter: Sheila (Kenneth) Ervin of Woodbridge , VA

4 Grandchildren: Kenneth (Stacy) Ervin, Christina (Wesley) Babcock, James (Monique) McCloud and

Lisa (Brian) Gibson

8 Great Grandchildren

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, James R. McCloud and her parents; Walter and Myrtle Chesher and 2 sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 10 AM directly at Bible Baptist Church , 8720 Orchard Drive , Highland with Pastor Michael C. Poole officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond . Friends are invited to meet with the family on Friday, October 1st at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.

There will also be a time of viewing at the church on Saturday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.

Muriel was a resident of Highland and Hammond for over 50 years before moving to Portage to be near her family.

For many years she was self-employed as a Mary Kay Consultant. She was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church and a former longtime member of Fairmeadow Community Church of the Nazarene. Muriel had been very active in the Nazarene church, playing both piano and organ for the services. Muriel was a wonderful Christian lady and a loving mother and devoted grandmother.
