Myrna Joyce Nichols went home to be with her Lord early Thursday morning, March 30, 2017 at 90 years of age. She was born on November 4, 1926 to Samuel and Fern Hoff in Chicago, IL, the oldest of four daughters. She was "Joyce" to all her family and friends. She was a graduate of Evangelical Hospital Nursing School in Chicago, and worked as a nurse on and off during her life. On December 22, 1947 she married Sherman Nichols and helped him throughout his 53 years in the ministry in several different churches in IL, IN, WY, CO, MI and FL. He passed away on August 28, 1998.

Joyce is survived by 6 children: Dan (Sherilyn) Nichols, Jim (Karen) Nichols, Priscilla Winner, Paul (Mary) Nichols, Ken (Bev) Nichols and Sherm (Carrie) Nichols;

16 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren;

two sisters: Pat Parker and Carolyn Downey; several nieces

nephews and a host of dear friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years; son-in-law, David Winner; one sister, Lynelle Smith and three brothers-in-law.

Joyce was a loving wife and mother and dearly loved by all who knew her and have known her for her gracious hospitality and infectious laugh.

Funeral Services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. directly at First Christian Church of Hessville, 6805 Alabama Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Lee Mason minister officiating. A time of visitation will be at 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. preceding the service

Committal services will take place on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 11: 00 (CST) where she will be laid to rest alongside her husband at La Fontaine Cemetery in La Fontaine, IN.

Memorials may be given to First Christian Church or the  Christian Restoration Association.
