Nancy Ellen Long, age 69 of Hessville, IN., passed on to be with the Lord Friday April 13th, 2018. She was born to Virgil and Goldie Cole on August 4th, 1948. She is survived by her son Bruce (Lynn) Long, her brother Larry Cole, 5 grandchildren; Jacob Long, Elizabeth (Juan) Cruz, Jeffrey (Angelica) Long, Katherine Long and Jovana Long, great grandson; Edward Long, many nieces and nephews; Lori (Desiree) Baehler, Michael (Laura) Smith, Wendy Prescott, Jennifer Hart, Annie (Brett) Coglianese and many great nephew and nieces and great-great niece Lennox.

Nancy was married to the love of her life, Dennis, for 36 years until his passing. Nancy worked as a cafeteria worker at Harding Elementary while her sons were young. She cherished her time as a cub scout leader while her sons were involved. Nancy also worked at The Avenue clothing store, in real estate (which she considered to be her dream job) and in a retail position at the bakery of Vantil's. Her most precious memories were going on family vacations, having family parties with everyone at her and Dennis's home, serving in the cub scouts as well as spending time with her great grandchild, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Nancy is preceded in death by her grandparents and great grandparents, son Jeffrey Long, mother Goldie Cole, brother-in-law Cecil (Smitty) Smith, father Virgil Cole, husband Dennis Long, sister Janet Smith and her son Edward Long.

A time of visitation for friends and family will be held on Tuesday April 17 2018 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond, IN. 46323 (Hessville) from 3-8 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday April 18, 2018 at 10 am with Pastor Orlando Soler from Life Point Church officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood cemetery.
