Nick Petcoff, age 84, of Hammond entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 15, 2015.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Janet L. Petcoff, (nee Wood);

one son, Tom (Marianne) Graczyk;

one grandson, Michael Graczyk; one brother, Chris Petcoff; and many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Desha Petcoff.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Charles Mosley officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville.  Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Bocken Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Nick was born on April 6, 1931 in Madison, Illinois and was a 1949 graduate of Washington High School.  He was a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with Co. K in the 12th Infantry. He retired from L.T.V. Steel and was a member of the Bricklayers Local #4. Nick was an excellent cook and he loved to watch old movies. He was a fan of football and always cheered on the Chicago Bears. Nick adored his family; he was a loving, kind and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
