Olive A. Lehmker, 93 of Hammond passed away peacefully on Monday, January 5, 2015 at Libertyville Manor Nursing Home in Libertyville, IL.

She is survived by three nephews: Merle (Gloria) Eichelberger of Griffith,

Kenneth (Janet) Eichelberger of IL and

Melvin (Conneye) Eichelberger of Texas;

4 nieces: Barbara (Don) Babair of Florida,

Marion (Dean) Sisney of Crown Point,

Carol (Walter) Gize of California and

Donna (Brian) Kramer of Vincennes, IN;

Numerous grand nieces and nephews and great grand nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband, William;

Parents, Joseph and Lona Eichelberger; brothers: Lilbert and George; one sister, Elsie Szekely.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Dr. Michael Hartwig officiating. Private burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.

Mrs. Lehmker was retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. after a long career. She attended Hammond High School and at the end of WWII met and married the love of her life, William Lehmker. They resided in Highland their entire married lives. Olive was a member of the Indiana Shore Telephone Pioneer, the Griffith chapter of Eastern Star and First Presbyterian Church of Highland.
