Patricia R. Gay, (nee Neff) age 97 of Merrillville formerly of Hammond passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Patricia is survived by; one granddaughter, Tracy Whorton of AL, three great grandsons: Billy and Rusty Cherry and Andy Thomas all of AL; numerous friends.

Patricia is preceded in death by her husband of 76 years, William John Gay; one daughter, Linda Parker of AL; one son, William T. Gay, grandson in-law, Garry Whorton; parents, Thomas and Rose Neff; two sisters: Virginia Swearingen and Helen Johnson; nieces: Lee Thomas, Judy Myron, Jerri Bontempt; nephew, Don Johnson and many friends.

In accordance with Pat's wishes no memorial service will be held, her cremation will be followed by private burial at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville, IN.

Patricia was born in Hammond, IN and was a lifelong resident of Hessville. She attended Morton grade school and graduated from Hammond Tech in 1945. Pat married her best friend and love of her life Bill on August 3, 1946. She found much joy in the time spent caring for her family and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, a true housewife who enjoyed job.
