Patricia A. Vlaisavich, age 79, of Plymouth, formerly of Hessville, was called home to be with her heavenly father on Tuesday, April 3, 2012.
She is survived by her son, Vincent (Cheri) Vlaisavich of Florence, KY and
daughter, Deborah (Phillip) Sherwood of Argos, IN
10 Grandchildren: Nicole (Shawn) Fergison, Ryan and David Sherwood, Sara (Jacob) Watson, Rachel Barnes, Rene (Michael) Marquette,
Desiree, Tara, Eli and Issac Vlaisavich;
6 great grandchildren: Bria, Vincent, Seth, Walter, Dylan and Grace Marie
brother, John (Sandy) Furto and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband of 21 years, Marco Vlaisavich; daughter, Susan Vlaisavich; son, Nicholas Vlaisavich; brother, Richard Furto; mother, Helen Furto; and other family, Anne and John Rudiatis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. directly at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 3428-165th Street, Hammond (Hessville) with Father Larry Kew celebrant. Burial will follow at St. John-St. Joseph Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of mass at 11:00 a.m.
Pat was born on December 3, 1932 in Springfield, IL. She
grew up in East Chicago and was a graduate of Bishop Noll High School. She later moved to the Hessville section of Hammond and was a charter member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. Pat was very active in her church and when she moved to Plymouth in 1974 she joined St. Michael's Church. She was employed for several years in the Plymouth Community Schools as an At Risk aid. Pat was the past director of the Kiwanis Camp in Plymouth for children with disabilities. Pat loved working with children.
She was an exceptional homemaker and loved baking "goodies" for her family. Pat will be remembered as a very faithful woman, whose family was her number one priority.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in favor of Special Olympics, 6100 W. 96th St., Suite 270, Indianapolis, IN 46278.
