Patricia L. Vitkus, age 82, of Highland, passed away on Saturday September 3rd, 2016. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James A. Vitkus. She is survived by her three children: James A. (Joan) Vitkus Jr. of Rochester, New York, Diane (Michael) Thews of Valparaiso and David (Kathleen) Vitkus of Washington DC; ten grandchildren: Amy Vitkus, Andrew Vitkus, Alisa Vitkus, Stephen (Katie) Fleming , Kristin Fleming, Daniel (Sarah) Fleming , Michael Kaminsky, Donald Kaminsky, Jacqueline Vitkus , and Alexander Vitkus; four great grandsons: Isaac, Charles, Daniel Jr., and Logan; two great granddaughters: Penelope Patricia and Stephanie; four sisters: Shirley Lawrence, late Mary Jane Perrotta, Phyllis (Larry) Clyde of Long Island, NY and Carol (Pete) Galuppo of Braunfels, TX.; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Monday September 5th, 2016 at 11 a.m. DIRECTLY at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 6709 Arizona Avenue, Hammond, with pastor James A. Thomson and Dr. Joseph Hall, officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family at Covenant Presbyterian Church Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Patricia loved the Lord and served as secretary at Covenant Presbyterian Church for many years. The joy of her life was teaching the Sojourner's Women's Class. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "Covenant Presbyterian Church regular fund for missionaries" or "Hospice of the Calumet Area". She is with her Lord in glory!
