Paul was a lifetime resident of the Calumet Area. He was born and raised in Calumet City, IL and lived in the Calumet Area for most of his life.  He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII as a cook. Paul enjoyed cooking and was an excellent cook.  He was a member of American Legion Calumet Memorial Post #330 and a volunteer Fireman for the Calumet City Fire Dept. Paul retired from Inland Steel after 25 years of service. He was a faithful employee who enjoyed his work. Paul was a longtime faithful member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and St. Catherine of Siena Church, where he had served as an usher. Silver was an avid Cub's and Notre Dame fan. He loved his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorials to the family would be appreciated.
