Peter J. Beda, age 83, of East Chicago, entered into the presence of his Lord and savior on Monday, October 6, 2025.

He is survived by his brother, Steve (Anna) Beda Jr.; longtime companion, Anita Hernandez; daughter, Debra (Michael) Mendoza; grandchildren: Manny, Jasmyn, Alex and Mia; four great-granddaughters; nieces: Pam (Dan) Rodriguez, Ann Marie (Jim) Curavo, and Jennifer (Jarrett) Jones.

Peter was preceded in death by his parents: Steve Beda Sr. and Ilona Beda (nee Bydic) and sister, Ann and brother-in-law, John Tampauskas.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Monday, October 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond, IN 46323. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at Bocken Funeral Home followed by interment at St. John-St. Joseph Cemetery, Hammond.

Peter was a lifelong resident of the region and a devoted member of his community. He faithfully served as a Deacon at St. Patrick's Church in East Chicago for many years, offering his time, faith, and compassion to those around him. Peter retired from Ford Motor Company. In his retirement, he loved fishing, studying martial arts, bike riding, bowling with the senior's league, and photography. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
