Phyllis E. Byrns, of Hammond passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 17, 2018.

Phyllis was born on April 1, 1932 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Earl and Bertha Cannon, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Randall;

beloved daughter, Susan (Joe) Castillo. Her much loved grandchildren: Joey (Hope) Castillo, Erik (Jessica Martinez) Castillo and Steve Byrns; loving great grandchildren: Noah, Audrina and Lucy; sister, Ima (late, Don) Tucker; nephew, David (Sandy) Tucker; nieces: Nancy Madsen and Barbara (Stan) Williams; best friend, Linda (late, Smitty) Smith and her children.

Preceded in death by her beloved son, Steven Byrns and granddaughter, Alicia Byrns.

Phyllis retired in 1985 from H&R Block where she was the manager and teacher. She enjoyed gambling on the boats, bingo, camping, fishing and spending time with her family.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
