Raul Bravo, age 86 of Hammond passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 2, 2012.
He is survived by his devoted companion of 40 years, Rose Gamino;
6 children: Debbie Bravo, Gina Gamino, Gino Gamino, Gina Lee Gamino and Alexus Horne;
1 godson, Jose Gamino;
Many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren;
Preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Salvador Bravo.
A Service to celebrate the life of Raul Bravo will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Rev. Steve Kosinski      officiating. Friends are invited to meet with the family for a time of visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home.
Chuckie was born on July 16, 1926 in the Harbor section of East Chicago and has been a resident of Hammond for the past 20 years. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran and served his country during WWII. During his tour in the Army he was a Golden Glove's boxer.
Chuckie retired from both Inland Steel Co. and East Chicago Washington Elementary School after many years of service.
He loved to sit outside on his porch and was a Chicago Bears fan.
Family came first and spending time with them was his number one priority.
