Robert D. Geren, age 70, of Munster, passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Bertha I. Geren (Nee Villarreal); children: Fernando (Sarah) Lopez, Veronica (fiancée Michael Gomez) Lopez; grandchildren: Elijah Gomez, Juelisa Gomez, Elana Lopez, Gabriella Gomez, Ethan Lopez, Alyssa Gomez, Noah Gomez; numerous and loving cousins, nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends.   Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Marie Geren; son, Alfredo Lopez; siblings: Marysue, William and George.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Wednesday,  January 27, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) IN 46323. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home. Face masks and social distancing guidelines will be required. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN.

Bob was born in Gary and attended  Calumet Township High School.  He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam era. Bob worked at Ryder as an overhead crane man until becoming disabled. He enjoyed bicycling and camping with his family, his grandchildren were the love of his life. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who will be deeply missed.
