Robert Lee Westfall Sr., age 81, of Hammond, passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Patricia Ann Westfall (nee Simmons).

Robert was preceded in death by his son, Robert Lee Westfall Jr. “J.R.”; parents, Richard (Mabel “Peggy”) White.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Ave. Hammond, IN (Hessville). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 7th at 10 a.m. officiated by Pastor Nathan Bucholz followed by interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville.

Robert was born on June 8, 1944, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, where he was raised and attended school in Farmington. He married his wife, Patricia, in 1965, and the couple moved to East Chicago in 1966. Robert began his career at Youngstown Sheet and Tube and later retired from ArcelorMittal in 2011 after 45 years of dedicated service. He was a lifelong member of the Lake County Fish & Game Association, serving as president in 1993. He was also a member of Ducks Unlimited, the East Chicago Good Fellows Club, and the F.O.E. in Hobart. Bob enjoyed golfing, duck hunting, and fishing with friends. He also loved dancing, playing cards, and listening to music. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
