Ron was born in East Chicago, grew up in Robertsdale and graduated from George Rogers Clark High School. As a youth, Ron was a Boy Scout and loved to spend time with his father hunting and fishing. He married the love of his life, Barb in 1961 and spent the next fifty years in Hessville, where he was a coach for Hessville Babe Ruth and Little League. Ron enjoyed being active in the community as past Treasurer for the Hammond Lions Club, Precinct Committeeman, and worked for the Lake County Election Board. He taught many children Tae Kwan Do through the Hammond Parks Department and was himself a 2nd Degree Black Belt. He was a retired maintenance foreman from Lever Brothers with 37 years of service and then at the Georgetown Townhomes. Above all he loved his family and always looked forward to everyone getting together. He was a very proud grandpa. Ron attended HopeSpring Church, (formerly Griffith Baptist) and was a former member of Orchard Drive Southern Baptist Church. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
