Ron spent his lifetime in the region where he graduated from Hammond Tech in 1972. He was a skilled machinist and retired from Ortman Fluid Power. Ron was a faithful member of Woodmar Baptist Church, where he shared his faith through singing. He often sang at home, practicing and perfecting his songs, and shared his gift by performing at many local nursing homes, bringing comfort and joy to residents.
Ron loved spending time with his family and created many cherished memories on vacations together. He especially enjoyed family camping trips and their annual visits to Indiana Beach. In later years, he and his wife loved traveling to Sauder Village in Ohio. It became a favorite spot where they often brought the whole family along to share in the fun and togetherness.
In addition to his love of music and singing, Ron had a passion for photography and a knack for capturing beauty through his lens. He will also be remembered for his ever-present Diet Coke, and the many hours he devoted to volunteering with Hammond's Civil Defense, now EMA.
Above all, Ron was a loving and devoted Christian husband, father, grandfather, and brother who cherished his family and will be deeply missed.
