Ronald M. Norris, age 74, of Hammond, passed away suddenly on Friday July 12, 2024, at his home. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patricia Ann Norris (nee Bosley); three daughters: Christina (Clayton) Martin Jr., Rhonda (Louis) Halcomb and Brandy (Salvador) Flores; six grandchildren: Clayton (Alex) Martin, Corie Halcomb, Antonio (Iris) Flores, Hailey (Matthew) Peterson, Dominic Flores and Aiyanna Flores; four great-grandchildren: Mila Martin, Savannah Martin, AJ Flores and Deacon Peterson; siblings: Stephen Baker, Cindy Owens and Cathy Graber; several nieces, nephews and friends.  Preceded in death by his parents: Union and Dorothea Norris; daughter, Veronica Norris; great-grandchildren: Adelynn Flores and Michael Martin; siblings: Marsha Todd and Greg Baker; stepfather, Luther Baker.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. DIRECTLY at Chapel Lawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, 8178 Cline Avenue, Crown Point, IN 46307. In accordance with Ron's wishes no visitation or other services will be held.

Ron was born in Birmingham, Alabama, he grew up in Hammond and attended Gavitt High School in the 1960's. He worked at Associated Box for 32 years, then worked at Feralloy Corporation from 2000 until his retirement in 2015. He enjoyed fishing and spending time on his CB Radio. His family and grandchildren were the center of his life, and his favorite place to be. Ron was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and lifelong friend to many and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers memorials to the family would be preferred.
