April 30, 1943 – September 23, 2022

Ronald Lee Trzcinski, age 79, of Hammond passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 23, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Roberta Elayne Trzcinski (nee Straub); children: Ronald Edward Trzcinski and Nati (Frank) Kresich; grandchildren: Keri and Frankie Kresich and Ari Trzcinski; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents: Sam and Antoinette "Busia" Trzcinski; siblings: Edward, MaryAnn and Patricia.

Friends are invited to join the family for a memorial visitation on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) 46323. Inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will take place at a later date.

Ron was a lifetime resident of the region,  he was a proud Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam War where he was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, Sharpshooter and a Purple Heart. When he returned home, he married the love of his life Roberta Straub. Ron was a member of American Legion Post 369. He enjoyed coaching in Hessville Little League and Softball and was known as "Softball Grampa". Ron was retired from Inland Steel Mill and in his free time, he  enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Ron will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. In lieu of flowers memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Boys Town would be appreciated.
