Rosa Marie Cruse, age 80, of Hammond, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, July 12, 2014.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Robert "Buddy" Cruse;

2 sons: John (Michelle) Cruse,

Donald (Kathy) Cruse;

4 Grandchildren: Amanda, Robert, Kasie and Carlie Cruse;

4 great grandchildren;

1 sister: Reba Blankenship;

Many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Faye and son, Robert Neal;

parents, John and Lena Shipp; sister, Betty Mathis;

brothers: John D. Young, Van B. Young, Ed Shipp.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. directly at Cornerstone Baptist Church, formerly Orchard Drive, 3425 Orchard Drive, Hammond, Hessville with Pastor Scott Ferry officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery in Crown Point.

Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 for a time of visitation from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). There will be a time of viewing at the church on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.

Rosa has been a resident of the Calumet Area since 1955 and a faithful member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord and served Him willing. For over 40 years she worked in Vacation Bible School, served on the Social Committee, Flower Committee and befriended many of the Senior's at the church.

Rosa was a very loving and caring wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, sister and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
