Rosemary Szeplakay, age 92, of Hammond, entered into the gates of heaven on Monday February 13, 2017.
She is survived by her four children: Lynda (Mike) Orzen, Richard (Candis Madison) Szeplakay, GraceAnne (Charlie) Coates, Frank Patrick (Cecelia) Szeplakay; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson; two brothers: Jim (Lu) Cassaday, Bob (Joan) Cassaday; numerous nieces and nephews numerous dear friends and her cat, "Shadow" a.k.a. "the Bowling Ball".

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Frank "Lucky" Szeplakay; parents, Paris and Grace Cassaday; Granddaughter Emily Szeplakay in 2001 and three brothers Richard, Ed and Junior.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Covenant Presbyterian Church 6709 Arizona Ave. Hammond with Rev. James A. Thomson officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Hammond.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Friday February 17, 2017 at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. There will also be a time of viewing on Saturday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the service at 10 a.m.                                                  Rosemary was born and raised in Hammond and a 1942 graduate of Hammond High School. She was longtime faithful member of Covenant Presbyterian Church where she sung in the choir, was a member of the Hour of Power Prayer Group, and Leah Circle. She loved to read, travel, and did the Olympic white water rafting at age 70. Grandma Lucky enjoyed gardening and growing her flowers.

She was a kind and loving wife, mother grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and dear friend who will be dearly missed.
