Ruth Elma Gregas, age 95, of Munster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017.  She is survived by six childern: Helen (Martin) Waechter, Susan (Larry) Andrews, Charlene Gregas, Norma (Nick) Resunenko, Carole (Thomas) Smith, Joyce (Mark) Scott; twenty two grandchildren: twenty six great grandchildren; one great great grandson; several nieces, nephews, and friends. Peceded in death by her beloved husband, William Gregas in 1985, grandson: Bill Smith; parents: John DeLaney and Helen Wright.

Friends are invited to meet with the family for visitation on Monday, April 24th, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville). Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Roy Moffitt, officiating at Bocken Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Chapel Lawn Cemetery in Schererville.

Ruth was a long time resident of Hammond. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Hammond for over fifty years, where she served in the beginners department for over forty years. Ruth was homemaker whose hobby was her family; her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. She will be remembered for her crochet butterflies and towels and as the Avon Lady. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to First Baptist Church of Hammond.
