Sally E. Stewart, age 91, of Hammond, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2017.
She is survived by her four daughters; Beth (Cal) Robertson, Mary Jo (Ray) Smith, Jill (Steve) Barney, Amy (Phil) Cagle; nine grandchildren: Jason (Gigi) Robertson, Ellie (Tom) Thompson, Katie (Ed) Bailey, Julie Smith, Leanne Barney, Sarah (Bryan) Rhoten, Jakob (Toni) Cagle, Erin (Adam) Davis, Andi Cagle;ten great grandchildren: Tyler, Charlie, Payton, Spencer, Jackson, Luke, Drew, Molly, Audery, Aggie; many nieces, nephews, and friends including her Bunco Club ladies and Monday night Bingo friends and her wonderful neighbors.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Billy R. Stewart; parents: Fred and Mary Fleischmann and eight siblings.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. directly at Concordia Lutheran Church, 7441 Grand Avenue, Hammond (Hessville) with Pastor Ronald Saatkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Concordia Cemetery in Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Wednesday, February 8th, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Concordia Lutheran Church.
A native of East Chicago, IN and a resident of the Hessville area since 1950. Sally was a faithful active member of Concordia Lutheran Church. She retired in 1987 from the K Mart store in Hammond where she was a department manager. Sally looked forward to family gatherings; her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the love of her life. Sally was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed. Family requests no flowers please; memorials may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area and Little Lambs Nursery School at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Highland.
