Samantha Jo Ortiz, age 21, of Hammond passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at her home.
She is survived by her son, Omari Henderson;
mother, Luz M. Ortiz;
companion, Willie Henderson;
2 sisters: Alma Ortiz and Elizabeth (Jessie) Casas;
4 brothers: Jose, Louis III (Laura) and Michael Oritz and
Angel Rosario; paternal grandmother, Gloria Hernandez;
many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her father, Louis Ortiz Jr; maternal grandmother, Elisa Sindo; paternal grandfather Louis Ortiz Sr. 2 nieces, Nina and Laila Ortiz.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Bocken Funeral Home, 7042 Kennedy Avenue, Hammond (Hessville)with brother Atlas Wedlow officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Monday, September 12th at Bocken Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mantha was born on February 20, 1990 in East Chicago and attended Clark High School. She was continuing her education at St. Paul Job Corp. Mantha loved playing "Bunco" and enjoyed talking with her friends on "facebook".
