Sherry Lynn Monroe (née Bledsoe), age 70, of Hammond, passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, at her home. She was born on June 12, 1954, in Huntington, West Virginia. Sherry was preceded in death by her husband, Terry Monroe; her parents, Basil and Eloise Bledsoe; her mother-in-law, Adrienne McGill; her brother, Scott Bledsoe; and her niece, Tiffany Cremeans. She deeply missed each of her departed family members and never fully healed from the loss of her husband.

She is survived by her children: Michael (Jill) Monroe of Hammond, Matthew (Amanda) Monroe of Virginia, and Mindy (Jon) Sarlea of Hammond; her grandchildren: Leilani Sarlea, and Lane, Madeline, and Bret Monroe; her sister, Judy (Fred) Kirby; and many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.

Sherry graduated from Purdue University Calumet with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse at St. Margaret Hospital in Hammond for 30 years before retiring in 2020. She loved her family, shopping, and working in her yard.

A memorial visitation and prayer service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Griffith First Christian Church, 202 W. Pine St., Griffith, Indiana.
