Shirley Pauline Thompson, age 88, of Muskego, WI, formerly of Hammond, IN entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 15, 2025.

She is survived by her three children: William J. (Pamela) Thompson Jr., of OH, Carol Robbins, of  WI;  and Michael (Billie) Thompson, of IN; two grandsons: William J. Thompson III and Michael David Thompson Jr.; two granddaughters: Nena Lora (Zachary) Davis and Victoria Pauline Thompson; great-granddaughter, Lexi Robbin Davis and four step-grandchildren: Serreana (Jerry), Jesse, David (Heidi) and Andrew (Sheila); sister, Judy (Jim) Patterson as well as numerous nephews and friends.

Shirley was preceded by her husband of 50 years, William J. Thompson; parents, Guido and Lora Aloisi; and son-in-law, Donn Robbins; brother, Guido (Anita) Aloisi and sister, Fran (Bill) Wilkinson.

Friends are invited to join the family for a time of visitation on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 7132 Arizona Ave, Hammond, IN 46323 with Mass officiated by Father Charles Mosley at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville.

Shirley was a longtime resident of the Region and a parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Hessville as well as at Our Lady of Grace in Highland where she taught CCD classes for over 25 years after earning a Theology teaching certificate.

Raised in Benld, IL, she moved to St. Louis before ultimately settling in the Calumet region after marrying her high school sweetheart, Bill.

Shirley worked with groundbreaking technology of the era during her employment at Combustion Engineering before leaving to raise her three children.

Shirley was passionate about her family. She enjoyed spending time with her husband and children, many hours of which were at a softball field. She was affectionately called "Mama" by her loving grandchildren and great-grandchild.

Shirley will be fondly remembered for her patience, sweet disposition, love of music and willingness to help others. She was always there when you needed her and will be greatly missed.
