Stella Carrillo (nee Cervantes)

January 24, 1944 – February 17, 2024.

Stella Carrillo (nee Cervantes), age 80, of Hammond, IN, formerly of Chicago, IL, passed away at Community Hospital in Munster, Indiana February 17, 2024.

Born and raised in South Chicago, Stella graduated from St. Michaels High School (closed in 1968) on 83rd and South Shore Drive. Stella worked as a nurse's assistant, customer service representative, aerobics instructor, homemaker, and most recently retired. Stella married October 23rd, 1964, to Balbino Carrillo Sr.  Stella was a loving mother of five children: Balbino Carrillo Jr., Maria Christina, Rebecca, Andres, and Estela. Stella proudly treasured her six talented grandchildren: Zachary, Miranda, Aidan, Mia, Nicolas, and Christina.

Preceded in death by her husband Balbino Carrillo Sr., her brother, Manuel Carrillo, her parents, Alberto and Maria Cervantes, and her son, Andres Carrillo.
